Lola Balatro Releases "Rock Star," Makes a Date
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) April 8, 2009 -- Acoustic post-grunge comedy rock trio Lola Balatro has released their first music video, "Rock Star", and has announced that June 9, 2009 will be the release date for the band's eponymous debut album.
An obamic fistbump of an anthem, "Rock Star" depicts the struggle inherent in embracing the rock and roll lifestyle without burning out. A high-definition version of the video can be viewed on the band's website (http://www.lolabalatro.com). Standard definition versions will be posted on popular video websites such as YouTube.
Lola Balatro is comprised of Jeff Madden, Cork Kangas, and Paul Thomas. Citing major influences Gordon Lightfoot and Alice in Chains, the Chicago-based band mixes a Dave Grohl-like propensity for hookmaking with the articulatory mastery of Bob Costas. Their album will feature ten tracks, as follows:
1. Rock Star 2. Celebutante 3. I Got 2 Black Friends 4. Name That Panda 5. Questionable Beef 6. Hey Now 7. Wrecking Ball 8. Access (To Your Heart) 9. Regretta 10. Basement Head
Free ringtones for "I Got 2 Black Friends" and "Rock Star" are also available for download on the band's website. Lola Balatro will debut another music video at their CD release party, which will be held Saturday, June 6 at 10 p.m. at Goose Island Wrigleyville in Chicago.
